Abs are great, but have you tried this easy fried donuts recipe? Just kidding, they are not that bad. They are exactly what you’re soul needs to be happy. Life is short, eat more donuts.
The total time is 1h and 50 minutes. This is an easy recipe, so don’t be scared of the long waiting time. In this time the dough rises and you have time to focus on yourself and do some things that you’ll love.
I recommend you to try vegan yogurt and jam on top.
It’s best to eat the fried donuts fresh. So if you are doing this just for yourself, you can work with half of the ingredients. I’ll help you a little with math- half of 3 1/2 is 1 3/4 and half of 1 1/2 is 3/4.
3 1/2 cup flour 1 1/2 cup warm water 20 g fresh yeast 1 tablespoon sugar ( I used coconut) 2 tablespoons sunflower oil ( + more for frying) pinch of salt Step 1: in a small bowl add the fresh yeast and sugar. Start mixing. It should turn liquid really soon. If not leave it for 1 minute and try mixing again. Step 2: in a large bowl sift the flour and add salt, the liquid mixture you just did, the oil and water. Mix it using a spoon or with your hands until everything is combined. Step 3: cover the bowl with a tower and leave it 1 hour to rest. Step 4: the dough should be doubled in size now. Sprinkle flour and/or oil on the surface you're working, on the roller pin and on your hands also. With the roller pin flatten the dough until 1-2 cm thick. Use a cookie cutter or the edge of a glass for round shapes. Make a ball from the left dough and re-roll it. Cut it again and repeat this until there isn't any dough left. Step 5: wait another 20 minutes, the donuts should be rising again. Step 6: fry them in heated oil until golden on both sides. Step 7: add toppings. It can be your favorite jam or vegan nutella. My favorite combo is berry jam with vegan yogurt. Step 8: enjoy.Ingredients

I recommend you to use fresh yeast, instead of dry yeast. You’ll find it in the refrigerators sections in supermarkets. You’ll also have to keep it in your fridge, as it is highly perishable. Some people like to test the yeast before using, but you can surely skip this step. There must be no problem if you just bought the yeast from the store and using it within two weeks. It’s best to use it as fresh as possible for best results.
If you can’t find this type of yeast in supermarkets, don’t worry. You can replace it with any type of yeast. Dry or rapid-rise. Just read the instructions on the packages and you’ll find there all the information you need to use them correctly.
