I used rolled oats for this as they cook quicker. You can use other types of oats, like fine oats, instant oats or steel cut oats. But if you are using the steel cut oats, the total time will increase as they usually need 20-25 minutes to cook to get this creamy.
This recipe has caffeine, so use decaf instant coffee powder for a decaffeinated version. Depending on how strong the coffee flavor you want to taste, add one or two teaspoons of instant coffee.
