And yes it looks and tastes like a real egg. And perfect if you are vegan for ethical reason. Cause why would you choose cruelty, when you can have this instead?
What are the secret ingredients?
While there are many other ways to recreate an egg, I wanted to find the easiest and simplest way to do it. There are two key ingredients for this recipe:
- Rice flour: for the egg white texture
- Kala Namak/ Black Himalayan salt: for the egg yolk and egg white taste
The method of cooking it’s very simple. Everything will be ready in 10 minutes. Start with the egg whites. After mixing the ingredients together, just fry it on one site with the lid on for 2 minutes. The egg yolks don’t require cooking, you just mix everything. In the end, you just combine them together to look similar to an real egg.
You will be impressed by how similar it tastes to an real egg.
For the egg white 1/4 cup rice flour 1/4 cup vegan milk 1 tablespoon water 1/2 teaspoon Kala Namak (black Himalayan salt) For the egg yolk 1 teaspoon vegan yogurt 1 teaspoon mustard 1/2 teaspoon turmeric 1/2 teaspoon Kala Namak (black Himalayan salt) oil for frying Step 1: in a bowl mix all the ingredients for the egg yolk Step 2: in another bowl mix all the ingredients for the egg whites Step 3: heat the oil in a pan and with a tablespoon add the egg white batter, like a pancake. add a lid to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on just one side Step 4: remove the egg whites from the pan and place them on a plate. add a teaspoon of the egg yolk in the middle. now your vEGG is complete Step 5: enjoy
