What are the key ingredients to replace the real egg?
- Silken Tofu Block
- Firm Tofu Block
- Kala Namak Salt
- Turmeric Powder
The key ingredients are the silken tofu and the firm tofu block. They will create the perfect texture. Don’t worry, you can’t have too much tofu. To have it taste like an real egg, you have to use Kala Namak salt (known as the black Himalayan salt). To make it look yellow, use turmeric powder.
The Japanese traditional recipe also uses sugar, mayo, green onion, parsley, mustard and black pepper.
