The Ocean Smoothie Bowl

This Ocean Smoothie Bowl tastes like summer vacation. It’s so easy to prepare it.

This recipe is for the days you miss the sea. You’ll be daydreaming about the waves hitting the shore, while you’ll be sitting on your couch.

For the red hearts, I used strawberries and two different sizes of heart shaped cookie cutters.

The secret ingredient is the blue spirulina

This color is pure perfection and you can get it by adding a teaspoon of blue spirulina.

If you are not familiar with the blue color, you should know that it comes from an blue-green algae. It’s all natural, don’t panic. The taste is neutral and it won’t change the smoothie taste, unlike the green spirulina. Everyone will love this.

You can use it in literally anything just as a natural food colorant, from drinks to hummus or noodles.

Similar to blue spirulina is the butterfly pea powder. This one comes from a dried flower and it will give your food a blue-purple color. I won’t recommend you to use anything else than this two. You can also find in supermarkets artificial food colorings. Avoid this as much as possible, as they are harmful for your body.
