Do you love rhubarb and oatmeal? I have the perfect breakfast recipe for you: the Rhubarb Strawberry Oatmeal.
This is a stovetop oatmeal recipe. I always prefer the stovetop oatmeal, instead of overnight oats, because it is a much comfy breakfast. And heart warming also.
I recommend you to use rolled oats or fine oats. They are a lot quicker to cook. But you can use any type of oats. If you are using steel cut oats, the time of cooking increases to 20-25 minutes and you will also need to add more water.
What is rhubarb?
Rhubarb is a vegetable whose stalk is the only part edible. Rhubarb has a very tart taste, but don’t worry cause in the right combination, it gives a very nice flavor. You can’t eat it raw as it is very unpleasant. But overall rhubarb is a very healthy ingredient. The season of rhubarb is from April to June. If you really enjoy the rhubarb flavor, I recommend you to chop it and freeze the rhubarb. So you can enjoy it the whole year.
